Mariano de Vedia

Mariano de Vedia (Mar del Plata, Argentina, 1962) has worked as a journalist at La Nación, one of the main newspapers in Argentina, for almost 20 years. Currently he is the editor of the newspaper’s politics section. A specialist in the Church and education, he was La Nación’s correspondent covering the Conclave that elected Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the first Latin American Pope. He has received many different awards for his journalistic work, including the prize for the best book on education for La educación aún espera (Education is Still Waiting), in 2005, from the El Libro Foundation and the Santa Clara de Assís Prize in 1999 and 2012.
