Luis García Montero

1958

Luis García Montero (Granada, 1958) is a poet and Professor of Spanish Literature at the Universidad de Granada. He is the author of eleven poetry collections and several books of essays. In 2003 his book La intimidad de la serpiente earned the National Critics Prize. As an essayist he has written several books on poetic thinking and theory. His first novel Mañana no será lo que Dios quiera (2009) won the Book of the Year prize from the Booksellers’ Union of Madrid. He regularly contributes to the written media and makes radio and television appearances.
