José María Aznar

José María Aznar (Madrid, 1953) was president of the Spanish government from 1996 to 2004 and president of the Partido Popular from 1990 to 2004. He taught at Georgetown University, after which he became a fellow at Johns Hopkins University. He currently presides over FAES, the foremost political think tank in Spain. He is the author of Ocho años de gobierno (2004), Retratos y perfiles (2005), Cartas a un joven español (2007), España puede salir de la crisis (2009), Memorias I (2012) and El compromiso del poder (2013).
