Carlos Poveda (Madrid in 1959) has worked several years for a multinational company and spent some time at its offices in Silicon Valley (California, USA). He has also worked as a professor. He is currently the director of an investment company. He won the Premio Círculo de Lectores 2010 with his first novel: Balada del Pacífico Sur (Ballad of the South Pacific).
