Alfonso Ussía was born in Madrid in 1948. Opinion columnist for a number of print media, he has won the González Ruano and Mariano de Cavia Prizes for journalism, the Jaime Foxá Literature Prize and the Pluma de Oro del Club de la Escritura. Among his many varied books, his series about the Marquis of Sotoancho stands out, as do other books such as Crónica del desastre (Chronicle of Disaster), Mujeres del reino (Women From the Kingdom) and No, no y no. Contra la secesión de Cataluña (No, no, and no. Against the Secession of Catalonia).
