Alfonso Mañas (Granada, 1976) is a Doctor of Ancient History and wrote his thesis on gladiators. He has a degree in English and Sports and Physical Sciences from the University of Granada. He works as a researcher at the same university and is a member of the editorial team of the International Journal of the History of Sport. His studies have been cited by international media organizations such as Fox News, MSNBC, National Geographic and the Daily Mail.
